“Haemet Yeshachrer Otcha”… loosely translated means “The truth will free you.” Since creating Haemet, I have since discovered that the actual Hebrew translation of John 8:32 would translate slightly differently, but not that differently and it means the same thing essentially.
When I first started to write here, this was my statement of purpose (of sorts):
One of my friends once wrote, “Conservatism has always been an independent movement of ideas. A political party is merely a vehicle to put those ideas into practice.” I could not agree more.
I don’t know what this blog will end up being. I have a passion for writing and sharing what I believe with others, so obviously that will be reflected here. To a certain degree, I know the truth. On the other hand, I am still searching. Translation: I know the truth that comes from Jesus Christ being my personal Lord and Savior, but I believe he has placed incredibly intelligent people on earth for me to learn from. I am confident in my spiritual beliefs and in most of my political views; however, I am also open to learning from people I respect and I see as godly individuals.
Not a lot has changed since then. I missed writing after I quit working for a campus conservative newspaper. I missed having the opportunity to comment on various political happenings and I missed debating and attempting to show people the truth. Sometimes, I get busy and Haemet suffers from a lack of posting. I suppose that’s just part of being a college student running one campus organization, taking 19 credits of classes, and working 10 hours a week. Not to mention that, sometimes, I try to have a social life of sorts.
My passion (which is most likely reflected in the majority of my postings) is for the pro-life movement. I am firmly pro-life concerning embryonic stem cell research, abortion, and euthanasia. My goal is to eventually join the pro-life movement full-time. My second passion (in which I support just as firmly as the first) is Israel. I love Israel and everything about it – hence, the Hebrew.
In addition to those two issues, I consider myself to be just about as conservative as it gets. Conservatism is more than a political viewpoint to me, it is the way I live my life. My faith in Jesus Christ absolutely influences everything I believe in, and most of the time, everything I say or do. I say most of the time, because like everyone else, I am imperfect in so many ways.
Whoever you are, I am glad you have graced my lowly little blog with your presence. Unless, of course, you are a crazy left-wing moonbat. In that case, get lost! Haha, no, I’m kidding, I promise. Please comment on anything you find interesting / disagreeable / agreeable / whatever in my postings. Even if you disagree with me, it will slightly boost my ego that you disagreed enough to actually comment. And really, it is all about my ego.
Is that lttle icon “Avatar” picture on your comments a piture of a Border Terrier? I used to have one of those.
